I think it goes without saying, given the circumstances, that this is one of the most important posts on here. The original translation from the Urdu of Hazrat Sahib's book, Pakistan ki Azeem ushShan Difai Quwwat - Pakistan Magnificent Defensive Power- was by his mureed M. Asghar. I've modified it very slightly for readability. For instance Mr. Asghar translates the title as The Magnificent Power Potential of Pakistan.

The Ideology of Pakistan, its Purpose & Importance
by Hazrat Maulana Capt. Wahid Bakhsh Siyal Rabbani Chishti Sabri
Pakistan is the only country in the world which has been created for the same most noble, loftiest and most important ideals, that formed the basis for the first Pakistan [the Muslim state created by the Holy Prophet [peace be upon him] in Medina]. The objectives of the first Muslim state were to banish Falsehood, uphold Truth, and implement Divine Law on earth.
Such a state exists to counter infidelity, polytheism, exploitation & oppression: it aims to save humanity from the evil of kneeling at the altars of false gods of all kinds, idols, the sun, the stars, fire or fellow creatures. It calls upon us to worship the One True God, the true Lord, the One who is to be worshiped and prostrated to, the Sought. [Ma'bud & Masjud & Maqsud]
The state based on Divine Law, & Surrender to God, therefore must strive to establish a social order free of all kinds of Evil: intoxicants, theft, adultery, deceit, subterfuge, deviousness, perversion, hatred and tyranny. Rather such a state inculcates in people Divine attributes like forgiveness, mercy, truthfulness, affection, and the spirit of sacrifice. It is only then a person is transformed to an able and deserving Khalifa [representative] of God on earth... and God's claim n the Qur'an "I have made Man a representative on Earth" is fulfilled.
The Ideological Frontiers of Pakistan
Pakistan's ideological frontiers, like those of Medinat un Nabi transcend it's geographical boundaries. Undoubtedly the ideology of Pakistan is nothing but the ideology of Islam. The objectives of creating Pakistan have been derived from the universal and eternal message of the Surrender to God: Islam.
Pakistan has therefore been created to banish Falsehood and establish Truth. The Holy Prophet [peace be upon him], salvaged a world sunk in unfaithfulness, worship of false gods, and tyranny. He enlightened an ignorant humanity after countless sacrifices and tribulations. His mission was carried forward by true adherents of his Tradition [the Sufis].
The Muslims have to now rid this world of the Evil & misdeeds prevalent- and the present generation of Pakistan especially must accept this mission.
In order to truly understand the import of the creation of Pakistan, we must cast a look back at the world of the 19th century, when the enslaved humanity of Asia, Africa & South America groaned under the oppressive colonial regimes of Europe.
The Muslims of the sub-continent were the subjects of a powerful British Empire, on which 'the sun never set.' Likewise Muslims elsewhere were also under one or another European colonial master.
These Western colonialists tried to weaken Muslims
They tried to weaken the from within by attempting to corrupt them & their Faith [the glue which binds Muslims together and hence makes them a threat-GreenSufi].
They chose the Holy Qur'an and the personality of the Holy Prophet [peace be upon him] as the prime target of their machinations, condemnation, criticism and aspersions.
The Muslims could do nothing to their arrogant rulers, as they were weak and helpless. It was as if Evil had cloaked the entire world in darkness. Whenever any Muslim dared rebel against his master, he was ruthlessly persecuted and made an example.
But the Muslims never gave up: they continued their struggle in without caring much about the consequences. Some of the valiant Muslims who rose to challenge their cruel Colonial overlords included Syed Jamaluddin Afghani, Shah Waliullah's family, Syed Ahmed Shaheed e Balakot, Hazrat Hajji Imdadullah Muhajir Makki, Shaykh ul Hind Mufti Mehmoodul Hasan the prisoner of Malta, Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi of the Silken Handkerchief movement, Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar & Maulana Shoukat Ali, [plus poets like Maulana Hasrat Mohani, Allama Iqbal] etc., may God elevate their station.
They struggled, they sacrificed themselves, and it seemed they failed- but LORD Almighty never lets sacrifice go unrewarded. They had done their job. They had awakened and jolted the masses out of their deep slumber. They had initiated a movement, which when led by a visionary leader like Muhammad Ali Jinnah forced the combined opposition of the British & the Hindus to give in & accept the creation of Pakistan.
The creation of Pakistan is therefore not a fortuitous happening, or an accident of history. It is rather Divine reward for the centuries of sacrifice, toil and tribulation of the Mujahideen of Islam. Those visionary leaders [like Shah Waliullah] had sensed that the decline of Mughal and eventually Ottoman empires would spell disaster for Muslims and their future would be absolutely dark. The Muslims had to be rescued and an ideological state like Pakistan was a dire necessity of the time, and the right answer to the prayers of millions of oppressed people in general and Muslims in particular.
Hence, one can only pity those who refuse o accept the founders of Pakistan as Muslims, or those who say that the creation of Pakistan was, God-forbid, the greatest sin. Still worse, they continue to live in Pakistan and meddle in its affairs. Had their conscience been alive and their hearts blessed with discernment of truth, they would have migrated to India and joined the Hindus whom they supported their whole lives and whom they hold in high esteem even now."

Thank you for your website and articles, they've been very informative and enlightening and much appreciated.
Regarding this article, i'd just like to state a couple of reasons why i feel uncomfortable with some of the points made in the discussion above and on many commentaries in general on the creation of Pakistan.
I do appreciate the historical context (western colonial oppression) which led to a felt need amongst many muslims in the subcontinent for an Islamic state.
I do not think, however, it's necessarliy fair for a parallel to be drawn between the ideology of Pakistan and the circumstances and context which led to the creation of the State of Medina during Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) lifetime.
One of the realities of the partition, which tends to be minimized, was that it was an incredibly bloody and tragic event as well... with many lives- innocent lives- (women, children) of all faiths and backgrounds being taken- and this should have been forseen. It's then a matter of means justifying ends- is it acceptable that any nation state (an Islamic nation state!) be created on the basis of forced expulsion/bloody migration etc? Is it really impossible to consider alternative possibilites/visions after a shared struggle against colonial oppression (such as an undivided subcontinent) as legitimate options? Or perhaps even more in keeping with Islamic principles?
It's sad but i honestly feel that the ideaology laid out in the article above- shared by many if not most Pakistanis- the sort of thought process/ rationalization it espouses shares more in common with the ideology of Zionism than anything else. A 'pure' state is a fascist concept and again in my opinion not congruent with Islam
I appreciate your tone & concerns hazrat, and like all my family lost near & dear lives too. But bear in mind these are not political commentators but pious men of God, blessed by Divine vision.
I really believe the alternative was ethnic cleansing & shuddhi on a level of savagery that would put Serbia to shame, and in those days of no TV it would have been a long time before the world would have 'called for restraint.'
Since the 1940's the campaign to disarm Muslims, move Muslim police for instance to the Records dept. from sentry duty etc., was well underway. Conversely the Hindus were arming themselves to the teeth. RSS lathi & dagger drill camps were springing up in every city, the tales of Shivaji & the Marhattas valor in cleansing Mother India from the unclean Muslims were gaining currency.
Remember Poonch 1948? how a province of 80% Muslims was turned by the Raja's Dogar force into a province of 15% Muslims in a matter of months: and those 15% consisting mostly of raped women.
And in this age of mass media, Modi's massacre in Gujarat. What happened due to international outcry at the murder of thousands of Muslims? 236 people arrested: 235 Muslims and 1 Sikh.
Sir what happened was horrible, the orgy of violence at partition, and even Muslims were guilty of excesses and outrage, though in retaliation and not to the extent of the Sikhs & Hindus: but still, they too were involved in these crimes.
But again, I have no doubt, my father and his generation who migrated in 47-48 had no doubt that had they stayed behind, it would have been worse.
And I think Mr. Qudratullah Shahab & others have shown that had partitioned not happened, the hardline Hindus had begun plans to exterminate Muslims as soon as the British left.
Finally ends do not justify means. The violence at Partition was not an intended end. Nor was this the basis, the basis was resentment and hatred against Muslims which had been bubbling under the surface for a long time.
This broke out with Shivaji in Emperor Aurangzeb's time, and from then Hindus were 'awakened,' yes these Muslims could be defeated. The Shuddhi Movement began in the 1880's you will recall. One has to realize that for most believing Hindus, India is essentially Holy Land and a religious entity.
So the basis of Pakistan, the 2 nation theory was already there. What the Auliya Allah saw was that Pakistan was gifted by their Lord to be a Fortress for the entire world Islam, a source of strength for Muslims elsewhere. And that it would play a great role for Islam in the future.
So as for the Zionist parallel, yes, in some ways you may say Pakistan is meant to stand up to Zionism...though this analogy only goes so far.
But we are Muslims hazrat. A 'pure' state does not mean a fascist ideology of superiority but rather an attempt to govern and live by the Highest Moral Code, and setting oneself high ethical standards, hardly the same as Israel.
After all fascism is based on ethnic Nationalism, whilst Islam is Universal. As Muslims, we believe in these verses of the Holy Qur'an: the Day you see Mankind all enter into Islam, troop by troop, and: Islam has been revealed so it will prevail over all religions [le yuzhiro 'ala deen kullehi]
Well, the Friends of God say that Day is not far, and Pakistan has to play the role destined for it.
fi aman Allah
