طریقہ ؛ پہلے اپنے نام کے اعداد نکا لیں - خواتین صرف پہلے نام کے ، اور مرد حضرا ت اس نام کے جو وہ اپنی شناخت سمجھتے ہیں، پورے نام کے ضروری نہیں- پھر دیکھیں کون سا اسم آپ کے نام کے میزان پہ پورا اترتا ہے - اگر کوئی نہیں تو ٢ یا ٣ اسماء حسنا سے اعداد برابر کر لیں ، ان اسما کے آگے "یا " لگا کر ہر نماز کے بعد اک تسبیح ورد کریں- ماشاءاللہ مجرب و مفید ہے - و بالله توفیق -

Note: this comes from Imam Jafer Sadiq, may God sanctify his secret. The immediate source is Allama Ghulam Jilanai Barq's book Mun ki Dunya. Allama Barq taught this to over 8000 people and they all benefited by the Grace of God.


The Method:
1. calculate your name's numerological value in Arabic script.
[your full name or your given name, depending on whichever you think is your identity- women only calculate your given or maiden name]
2. Find the Divine name or names which give the same value.
3. Recite after every prayer [namaz/salat]
4. Make sure you learn the meanings of the Divine Names chosen. [see link in sidebar under Resource]
5. Do not exclusively use these Divine Names: recite all the Beautiful Names once in a while.
6. One can also choose any Divine Name one likes instead. For God alone gives success, and sincerity is most important to Him.

[eg. Nur Muhammad is 256 + 92=348. Since there is no Divine Name known with this value, Nur Muhammad takes Wali 46 and Baseer 302= 348. Therefore Nur Muhammad should recite "Ya Wali, Ya Baseer" say 33 or a hundred times after each namaz/prayer.

Please remember this is a very serious & powerful Zikr, or Remembrance of God. Try to do it regularly.
The Divine Names have certain vibrations. When we match numerological values in this manner, there are certain special extra beneficial effects on the reciter. However one should not do this Zikr for the sake of benefits but for the sake of God.

You will immediately notice the benefits of this, God-willing. Perhaps in as little as 3 days.
But only IF it is the Will of God.

If one is not benefiting from this, then it's possible one is involved in some sin.
The list of deadly sins is about 40, as given by Imam Ghazali in his Alchemy, Revival or Spiritual Medicine. If you do not have access to these 3 books, look up "What God has Forbidden" on this blog.

The first sin one should give up is falsehood: lying & deception. Next, egotism & backbiting. The rest [obscenity, heartlessness, selfishness, jealousy, hedonism, voyeurism, materialism, sarcasm, meanness, anger etc.] can be given up in time God-willing.

The Sufis have said: Sins are of 2 types, those of the Ego and those of Lust. The ones of the Ego are harder to give up and far deadlier... which is why the Prophet, peace be upon him, said "Backbiting is worse than adultery."

TO sum up, modern-day Sufi masters have simplified the path into 4 steps:

1. Leaving sin
2. Doing good & improving character [modeling it on the Prophet].
3. Extra worship, esp. Durud [blessings on the Prophet], the Night prayer [at least 4 rak'at/cycles] and Remembrance of God [zikr or Dhikr].
4. Taking a Sufi master for the higher stages of the Journey to God.
